The Randy " Rooster " McMillen Minor Lacrosse Memorial Fund has been established to sponsor an Owen Sound child who would like to play minor lacrosse, but may not have the financial resources to participate.

Moss ( Guillain-Barre = Ghee-in-Barr-eh )

There will be a fundraiser for Jim Moss & Family on Saturday February 20th at Lakeshore Recreation in Port Elgin beginning at 8 pm.

Moss, a former London Knights captain and National Lacrosse League player, was infected with the H1N1 virus, and now is dealing with Guillain-Barre Syndrome.

At the moment, Moss is recovering from paralysis in his legs.

The recovery process could take up to 2 years, and as a result, the family is facing significant medical costs.

The Moss Family is staging the fundraiser with both live auctions and silent auctions in order to defray the medical costs.

Admission to the evening at Lakeshore Recreation is free.

Owen Sound & the Grey Bruce Highlanders will be the host center & host team for the SCTA Minor Bantam Championship Weekend, set for March 5th to the 7th.

On Friday March 5th the games will be staged at the Coliseum from 9:30am-7:30pm and at the Harry Lumley-Bayshore from 10 am-8 pm

On Saturday March 6th the games at the Bayshore run from 8 am-4 pm and at the Coliseum from 9:30 am-9:30 pm.

The final day, Sunday March 7th, the finals will be at the Bayshore from 1 pm-5 pm

The annual Bowl for Big Brothers is Saturday March 6th from 1 pm to 3 pm at Westside Bowl in Owen Sound.

The Owen Sound Attack Hockey Club and players have joined forces with the Canadian Cancer Society to FIGHT BACK FOR CANCER a NEW event being held on March 6th at the Harry Lumley Community Centre.

The afternoon events will include the Attack Players shaving their heads as a Kick off to Cops for Cancer, the signature event for the Bluewater Unit of the Canadian Cancer Society.

During the evening the Attack host Erie for a 7:30 p.m. start time with the Chuck A Puck contest being held during the 2nd intermission.
