There will be a ‘Send Off Party ' for Al Hutchinson and his curling rink who will be representing Ontario at the Canadian Masters Championships in Surrey, BC. in early April.
The Party will be held at the Blue Water Curling Club in Owen Sound Saturday starting after 4 pm.
The goal is to raise money to provide financial assistance to the rink who are responsible for most of the costs for their accommodation, travel and meals.

The South East Grey Community Health Centre is collecting skates to re-distribute to children, youth and adults in Grey Highlands, Chatsworth and Southgate.
Part of the Healthy Kids Community Challenge, the Southeast Grey Skate Exchange has successfully supported winter play by making skates available at no cost and with no paper work.
Previously the program accumulated more than 150 skates for all ages so residents could get out and take advantage of the community skate times.
To help replenish the skate exchange, skate donations can be dropped-off at South East Grey Community Health Centre, arenas and municipal offices in the Chatsworth, Southgate and Grey Highlands, and the Foodland stores in Markdale and Dundalk.
On Saturday the Knight's of Meaford will be hosting the New Tecumseth Civics in a Greater Metro Junior Hockey League game.
Game time is 7 pm at the Meaford & St Vincent Community Centre.
The game has been designated as a " Touch of Taryn " game where they will be auctioning off custom jerseys and selling Taryn's sketchbook prints.
The Touch of Taryn was created to honour the memory of Taryn Hill in a way that commemorates her enthusiasm for life.
On behalf of The Touch of Taryn all proceeds from the game will be donated to the Meaford Hospital Foundation.
Owen Sound Minor Sports and Programs Registration will take place at the Harry Lumley Bayshore Community Centre on Tuesday, February 20th and again Wednesday, March 7th.
Registration both days runs from 5:30 to 8 pm
Registration for Minor Soccer, Minor Baseball, Minor Lacrosse, Special Olympics Ontario - Owen Sound, Bruce County Rugby Club- Owen Sound, Harmony Hockey, Camp Celtic, Stone Tree Junior Golf and Fudoshin Classical Karate will be conducted.
Proof of residency is required for participants enrolling with a Minor Sports Group who receives a subsidized facility rate from the City.

The Owen Sound Attack, in conjunction with the REACH Centre of Grey/Bruce, is pleased to announce 1st ever REACH. Shoot. Score. charity game Saturday, Feb. 24th when the Attack host the Peterborough Petes
The Attack will don special jerseys that will be auctioned off following the game in support of the REACH Centre, a non-profit organization supporting young adults with developmental disabilities.
Prior to the game, the Attack and the REACH Centre will host a celebrity serve at East Side Mario's on Wednesday, Feb. 21 from 6:00pm - 8:00pm.

Nominations for Athletes, Builders & Teams will be accepted through Friday March 23rd at 4:30 pm.

The Kilsyth Young Guns and Kilsyth Flyers are proud to be the host teams for the 2018 Canadian Juvenile Broomball Championship Tournament in Owen Sound.
The Young Guns will host the Girls tournament while the Boys Championship will be hosted by the Flyers April 4th-7th at both the Bayshore & Regional Rec Centre.

Make plans to support the Kilsyth Young Guns and Flyers as they host the Canadian Juvenile Broomball Championships April 4th-7th.
The 2018 Grey Roots Regional Heritage Fair is Thursday April 19th at Grey Roots Museum & Archive on Grey Road 18
The activities run from from 9 am to 2 pm and features close to 50 projects from various schools which will be on display and adjudicated by volunteer judges.
The top projects from the Regional Fair will go on to the Provincial or National Fair in June

Six athletes, 3 builders, 3 teams and 1 special merit award will be part of the formal induction ceremony.

The annual Crimestoppers of Grey Bruce Golf Tournament is Friday June 1st.
The venue for the tournament has been changed to the Saugeen Golf Club.

The 23rd Jeff Preston Celebrity Golf Tournament for Muscular Dystrophy research will be held on Friday July 20th at Saugeen Golf Club in Port Elgin.
Through the years, the tournament has generated funding of almost $1.4 million dollars for MD research.
The OASA Midget Fastball Championship Tournament will be staged in Owen Sound.
The Championship Tournament will be staged at Duncan McLellan Park July 28th & 29th.
The Meaford Scarecrow Invasion and Family Festival Is going " Western " this year.
The 2018 invasion will start during the first week of September and continue till after the Thanksgiving weekend.
The parade on Sykes Street and Family Festival Hoedown at the Rotary Harbour Pavilion is scheduled for Friday, September 28.

The 2018 Ontario Minor Track Association Provincial Cross Country Meet will be hosted by the Meaford Coyotes.
The Coyotes won the right to host the meet following an MTA vote on Sunday.
The date for the 2018 Provincials will be Saturday October 27th and the Coyotes will utilize the Georgian Bay Community School Athletic Field and part of the Georgian Trail.
