Two of the most controversial words in our world that fires people up on both sides of the issue. Gun control. But here's the thing; the fact that there's two sides to this issue is part of the problem. People are WRONG about gun control. Just like the famous line from A Princess Bride, I don't think it means what you think it means. To some leftist liberals, gun control means no access to firearms for anyone but police & military personnel. To some right wing conservatives, gun control means big government coming to your house and taking away all your legal firearms. But here's what gun control actually means for stopping mass shootings and school tragedies: making it more difficult for people that should NOT have guns to get guns. Making unnecessary assault rifles legally unobtainable. Nobody wants to take away all your guns. Nobody wants guns to cease to exist. You're wrong. But if you think there shouldn't be any changes to laws so that people with criminal records, or mental illness history, or who've had violent behavioural issues resulting in the cops coming to your house 35 times...if you think they shouldn't have an easy path to get a gun, you're wrong. Gun control doesn't mean taking some guns away from everybody, it means taking away all guns from some people. It means trying to STOP mass shootings which no politicians in the US seem to want to do. They're wrong. And if you think gun laws are currently fine, you're wrong too. Making Waves, I'm Ben McCully.
