October 22nd 2018 Ontario's 444 municipalities will be busily electing their local councillors, mayors and deputy mayors.
How local elections are run is detailed in the Municipal Elections Act and a significant change has occurred to the legislation for this election cycle.
Trade Unions, Corporations and Individuals can now register as a Third Party Advertiser to promote, support or oppose a candidate running for your vote.
Local elections will now see an increase of thousands of more dollars this election cycle in order to influence you to vote or against someone.
Voters will begin to see and hear ads from Third Party Groups beginning April 1st 2018 to October 19th 2018.
Who to vote for in local elections can be a difficult but with American style political advertisers becoming the norm this local election cycle it will be even harder.
