Tomorrow is Opening day for the 52 annual Grey Bruce farmers week.

Wednesday is Beef Day, with information sessions on "alternative feed sources for cows" along with farm safety videos on "grain augers and tractor safety".

There is a hot roast beef dinner and trade show exhibits at Noon, followed by information sessions on "changing consumer trends" and "determining an effective vaccination protocol."

Thursday is Dairy day at Grey Bruce Farmers week.

Friday is Goat Day, followed by sheep day on Saturday and Horse day on Sunday.

The event runs right into Tuesday of next week, all at the Elmwood community centre.

A poultry farm in Saskatchewan has gone up in flames.

The blaze struck near Regina Beach last Wednesday morning and an unknown amount of chickens died in the fire according to an RCMP news release.

Police were dispatched to the Pedigree Poultry farm and found multiple structures were ablaze.

The cause of the fire is under investigation and no damage figure was given.

The fire is the latest incident to affect the farm.

Back in 2015, bed bugs were found there, and close to 50,000 chickens from Pedigree Poultry were destroyed following an avian flu outbreak a decade ago.
