HQ Fine Foods of Edmonton is recalling a number of its subs and sandwiches because they might be contaminated with the food-poisoning bacteria.
It includes Best Value pizza subs, Fresh and Local super pizza subs, seven types of Hygaard pizza subs, two Made to Go pizza subs and seven Quality Fast Foods submarines and its Chuckwagon sandwiches.
Distribution is nation-wide by the company.
The danger was detected by Canadian Food Inspection Agency tests. It says there have been no reported illnesses.
Ontario's agricultural community is giving back to families in need over the holiday season.
Growers who can't sell their produce because of colour or size issues have been giving away carrots, onions and other vegetables to the Southwestern Ontario Gleaners.
It is a volunteer organization that turns fresh produce into dehydrated soup mixes.
This season, more than 40,000 pounds and about 250,000 servings of food traveled approximately 1,000 kilometres by truck and another 500 kilometres by air to three First Nations communities in northern Ontario.
