There are now 22 cases of salmonella food poisoning linked to breaded chicken from Sofina Foods.

The Public Health Agency of Canada issued a recall of the breaded chicken in mid-October.

Sofina has plants in Brampton and London.

The products are Janes Pub Style Chicken Burgers - Uncooked Breaded Chicken Burgers (800 g) with a best before date of May 12, 2018, and Janes Pub Style Snacks Popcorn Chicken - Uncooked Breaded Chicken Cutlettes (800 g) with a Best Before date of May 15, 2018 .

The products were distributed across Canada.

The Public Health Agency says raw chicken is more frequently the source of food poisoning, but this is the third case since 2015 for a recall of breaded chicken products.

A Holyrood man, James Gowland, has been  appointed to a two-year term on the Business Risk Management Review Committee.

Farmers who are upset by their treatment in business risk management programs designed by the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, can ask the committee to review their case.

The committee can then make recommendations to those who administer the program in question, but they can't force the administrator to adopt its recommendations.
