Grey county is holding it's second annual Ag 4.0 summit today.

It's goal is to educate and inspire people who work in the agriculture, food and technology industries.

Warden Al Barfoot says Agriculture and food have deep roots in Grey County and are major drivers of the local economy.

He adds Technology is playing a bigger role than ever in farming, food production and distribution.

Ag 4.0 is a chance to listen to experts and learn about new technologies that can help strengthen farm businesses.

This year, the event will shine a spotlight on global challenges and local opportunities.

Grey County's Agri-Food Asset Map, Ontario's Ag Portal. Farm Trends and Cutting Edge Technology and Success Stories.

The event is being held today at the Meaford Hall.

The latest USDA Cattle on Feed Report shows a growing inventory and higher number of feeders placed on feed.

That report says there were 11.3 million head of cattle and calves on feed for slaughter in large U.S. feedlots as of Nov. 1st.

That represents a jump of six per cent compared to the same time a year ago.

The Marketing of fed cattle during October totaled 1.80 million head, which is up six per cent.
