Bayshore News

By Alex Cunningham

Hi, this is Alex Cunningham with " Off the Wire ".

There is a chance for local Peewee House Hockey teams to apply for a Canada 150 Hockey on the Hill contest.

The contest closed on the 18th on November but judges are going through the entries to pick the winners.

Local MP Larry Miller was encouraging the local teams to enter the contest to show off the talent that Bruce-Grey has in hockey to the rest of the country.

16 Boys and 16 Girls teams will go to Ottawa to attend this year's Bell Capital Cup hockey tournament to represent their region from December 28th to the 31st in a Canada 150 division.

The winning teams will be selected by a panel of judges, the teams will receive
- Round trip travel to and from Ottawa for each player and 5 officials
-accommodations from the 27th-30th

-Transportation while in Ottawa

-3 tournament games with 1 game being played on the Canada 150 rink on Parliament Hill

-A set of Canada 150-OIHF Jerseys

The winning teams will be contacted, it is a fantastic chance to represent your region and province in our winter sport of hockey.

I'm  Alex Cunningham, thanks for listening.
