Canadian Olympian Amy Millar of Perth, Ont. claimed her 1st Cdn Show Jumping Championship
Canadian Olympian Amy Millar of Perth, Ontario claimed her first Canadian Show Jumping Championship title on Saturday night, at the Royal Horse Show, part of the 95th Royal Agricultural Winter Fair in Toronto.
Sitting third following Friday's opening round of competition with 1.25 penalties, Millar returned for a two-round final in front of a full house Saturday evening.
Piloting her 2016 Rio Olympic Games mount, Heros, Millar jumped fault-free to move to the top of the leaderboard and win her first national championship title.
Francois Lamontagne of Quebec jumped up from fifth in Friday's standings to a second place finish behind Millar.
Ali Ramsay of Victoria, BC took third while Nicole Walker of Aurora, celebrated her 24th birthday with two clear rounds to finish fourth overall.
Global food prices declined by 1.3 per cent in October, compared with September, but were 2.5 per cent higher than last year.
That's still far below the record high in February, 2011, when the index was 240 points, 27 per cent higher than now.
The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations reports the statistics and said that all categories except cereals had price declines.
The meat price index averaged 172.7 points in October, down 0.9 percent from September.
