Keady Livestock Market Report

At the Keady Livestock Market on Tuesday, October 24th,  962 head of steers, heifers, cows and bulls were on offer.

All classes of stocker and feeder cattle sold briskly at steady prices.  Cull cows and bulls sold slightly higher.

Steer calves up to 600 pounds sold from $2.15 to $2.70, while heifers sold to $2.18.

Steers weighing 600-800 pounds sold from $1.86 to $2.35  while heifers sold to $2.18.  

Steers weighing 800-1000 pounds sold to $2.15 while heifers sold from $1.60 to $2.00.

Cull cows sold from 68 to 84 cents while bulls sold to $1.06.

At the calf, sheep and goat barn 115 dollar calves were on offer, selling slightly easier.

Holstein male calves weighing 100 to 150 pounds sold up to $350 per head.

There were 46 sheep and goats on offer.

Market lambs weighing 50-64  pounds sold to $2.10 per pound while Nanny Goats sold up to $185 per head.

At the small animal sale,  Buff Orpinton Poultry sold to 11 dollars per bird, while Muscovy Ducks topped at 7.

Rabbits stopped at 18 dollars a piece while Golden Red Pheasants sold to 22.
