Bench Talk / Off The Wire

Four In Four

By Fred Wallace

Hi, this is Fred Wallace with " Off the Wire ".

It's Thursday which brings us back to Meaford for the Knights' Greater Metro Junior Hockey League game tonight against the visiting Sequin Huskies.

In a rarity over the first 4+ years, the Knights are considered to be the favorite tonight at the Meaford & St Vincent Community Centre.

Coming into the affair, Meaford has an excellent record of 7-2-0 & 1, which includes an overtime victory over the Huskies.

By comparison, the Huskies have just 2 victories on the year, but having said that, the 2 wins come over credible opponents; South Muskoka & Almaguin.

As it stands now, the Knights are 2 points back of a top 4 position, trailing the 4th place Ville Marie Pirates.

A win tonight on home ice is imperative for Meaford as it launches a stretch of 4 games in 4 days.

After hosting the Huskies tonight, Meaford heads off for road games Friday at Gravenhurst, Saturday at Sturgeon Falls and then Sunday afternoon in Sequin.

This compacted stretch of games may also determine whether the game next Thursday in Meaford between the Knights and Ville Marie will be a Top 4 showdown.

Game time tonight for the Huskies and Knights is 7:30 at the Meaford & St Vincent Community Centre.

I'm Fred Wallace
