Quiet Week.....NOT

By Fred Wallace

Local Summer Sports Recap

Hi, this is Fred Wallace with " Off the Wire ".

It's been a very busy week in these parts.

We had a golfer from the region, Josiah Dixon from Bognor, flirt with the top 10 at the Canadian Men's Amateur before settling for a tie for 27th after 4 very consistent rounds.

We've had all kinds of fastball including 2 Shallow Lake teams looking for National titles in Peewee and Bantam at Palmerston & Cobourg respectively.

Lots of adult fastball too in the region, plus the Wiarton Nationals are due in Rockford, Michigan tomorrow for the start of the ISC World Championships.

Plenty of lacrosse.

Brody Caskenette has done well with Team Ontario heading towards the medal games at the Canadian Midget Box lacrosse Championship in Whitby.

The Senior NorthStars have a do-or-die playoff game tonight at Six Nations. If the NorthStars win tonight, it sends the Ontario Senior Championship series back to Owen Sound for Game 4 Sunday night at 7...but only if the NorthStars win tonight.

Five athletes from the Saugeen Track & Field Club are in Brandon, Manitoba this weekend for the National Youth Championships.

And the 34th annual Chantry Chinook Classic concludes on Sunday at noon.

Not much happening here.

Have a great weekend.

I'm Fred Wallace
