Hi, this is Fred Wallace with " Off the Wire ".
We talked baseball Monday & Tuesday, so we'll change gears and talk fastball today.
In Port Elgin tonight there's a Grey Bruce Ladies game as the Diamond Devils face the Allenford Gators.
That game at Lakeview Park will be followed by Bluewater Fastball League action as the Blue Devils host the Elmwood Smoke at 8:30 pm
There's another Grey Bruce Ladies Fastball League game at Meaford as the Bad News Bears face the Leeky Canoe at 8:30 pm
And in the Owen Sound Men's Fastball League at Duncan McLellan Park there's a doubleheader tonight starting at 7 when Sutherland Construction meets the Shallow Lake Sting.
Speaking of Shallow Lake, both the Peewee Sting and the Bantam Red Devils have qualified for their respective Canadian Championships.
The Peewee Nationals are next month at Palmerston while the Bantams are at Cobourg August 9th-13th.
In time, these Peewee & Bantam players will graduate to Junior, a level where the Owen Sound Selects are coming off a 2nd place finish at the Kitchener Invitational over the weekend.
Plus, the rumour persists that the Owen Sound Juniors are formulating a bid to host the 2018 Canadian National Championship Tournament.
I'm Fred Wallace
