Girls and Boys Soccer Playoffs Today

Hi, this is Fred Wallace with " Off the Wire. "

These are great days for high school sports as both the Bluewater School calendar and various BAA sports activities head toward a year end climax

Today, the Girls and Boys Soccer Playoffs come to a conclusion.

In the Girls Division, the St Mary's Mustangs take on the Sacred Heart Crusaders in one semifinal while the Grey Highlands Lions meet the Saugeen District Lady Royals in the other...the winners advance to the Bluewater Championship Game.

Similar story for Bluewater Boys Soccer.

It's the Walkerton Community Riverhawks up against St Mary's in one semifinal while the Owen Sound District Wolves go against the Kincardine District Knights in the other.

Again, the semifinal winners will clash for the Bluewater Boys Soccer crown.

I find it interesting that 8 semifinal teams are represented by 7 different Bluewater schools.

Meanwhile, the Bluewater Rugby Championships were decided last week.

The St Mary's Lady Mustangs took the Girls crown and the Boys title was captured by the Grey Highlands Lions.

The Lady Mustangs and the girls from Grey Highlands will be among the entries competing tomorrow and Friday at Victoria Park in Owen Sound in the CWOSSA " A-AA " tournament.

The Grey Highlands Boys are off to Delhi next week for the CWOSSA " A-AA " Boys Rugby Tournament.

I'm Fred Wallace
