Lots of Lacrosse in Owen Sound

By Fred Wallace

Tonight, Friday, Doubleheader Saturday & Sunday

Hi, this is Fred Wallace with " Off the Wire ".

A solid stretch of NorthStar Lacrosse commences tonight in Owen Sound and runs through the weekend.

The Junior NorthStars will play 3 home games over the course of the next 3 & 1/2 days, starting tonight when they host the Elora Mohawks at 8 pm at the JD McArthur Arena.

Tonight's game is the 3rd of the season between these two clubs; Owen Sound holding a 2 & 0 advantage over Elora which makes tonight's divisional game that much more significant.

Keep in mind, Saturday and Sunday afternoon the Junior Stars are also at home for 2 pm starts against Wallaceburg and then Point Edward.

And while those games aren't divisional, they are no less important as the Midwest Division once again promises to be tough, so points accumulated outside of the MidWest are crucial to playoff hopes.

Meanwhile, the Senior NorthStars have games on back to back nights this weekend.

Tomorrow night, the NorthStars who won their opener 9-3 at Kitchener last weekend will visit the defending league champion Brooklin Merchants.

Then Saturday night at 7 pm, Owen Sound will play their home opener in the Senior loop when they host the Six Nations Rivermen.

Two NorthStar teams, 4 days, 5 games.

Lacrosse season in Owen Sound is underway in a big way starting tonight.

I'm Fred Wallace
