It's the climax of the curling season.
On the big stage, Rachel Homan and her Ottawa rink mates ran the table from start to finish, capturing the World Women's Championship at Beijing.
The Homan rink defeated everyone including Russia 3 times to win the women's title for the first time since 2008.
The Ford World Men's Curling Championship begins Saturday in Edmonton. Brad Gushue of Newfoundland-Labrador is the Canadian entry.
Closer to home, the Chesley Curling Club staged a terrific event in recent days- the 2017 New Holland Elementary School Championship with 76 young rinks competing.
North Dundas of Winchester won the overall crown defeating Collingwood Mountain View in the final.
The Twining Brothers, Tyler & Brandon, were part of the Fanshawe rink that won the Canadian College Championship in Alberta.
And finally at the Blue Water Curling Club in Owen Sound, the Brent Keeling rink won the Hanbidge & Bowman Players Choice League.
Keeling defeated Lorne Johnson in the final to conclude a season that featured 8 rinks competing with a goal of doubling the size of the league for next year.
