WOAA Senior Semifinals Continue

By Fred Wallace

Hi, this is Fred Wallace with " Off the Wire ".

The WOAA Senior Hockey Semifinals continue tonight with games at the Plex in Port Elgin and at Drayton.

Both semifinals are tied at 2 heading into this pivotal weekend.

At the Plex tonight, the Saugeen Shores Winterhawks host the Clinton Radars in Game 5 of their best of 7.

The home team has won all 4 games to this point in the series and the Winterhawks hope that trend continues.

Game time is 8:30 tonight in Port Elgin.

Meanwhile, the other semifinal between Mapleton-Minto and Petrolia has been a roadies series, the home team has not won once in the opening four matches.

The 81's, maybe for good luck, are playing out of Drayton tonight and not Palmerston- we'll see if that makes a difference.

Game time there is also 8:30 pm

And one other note out of Port Elgin this week, the 3-on-3 Professional Hockey League will be making a tour stop in Port Elgin on Saturday April 1st

The Saugeen Shores Sunset Cup has 8 teams of pro hockey players representing various cities competing in a single elimination tournament for a share of a cash purse and individual bonuses

At the 3HL Saugeen Shores Sunset Cup, teams will be competing for a share of $15,000 in cash.

Among the players scheduled to compete in the Sunset Cup are the MacLean Brothers of Port Elgin, Brett & Miles, who play for the Guelph Brewers.

Senior Games tonight in Port Elgin and at Drayton, followed shortly by the first ever Saugeen Shores Sunset Cup on April 1st.

I'm Fred Wallace
