Bench Talk / Off The Wire

Merry Christmas

By Fred Wallace

Hi, this is Fred Wallace with Off the Wire.

It's Christmas Weekend, so I want to wish the best of the season to all of our listeners.

It's a season of joy, so I thought I'd share some of the joyful events in a sporting, radio and personal life that have transpired over the year.

Watching Larisa Yurkiw get podium finishes on the World Cup ski circuit and then gracefully walk away when her body suggested it was the right thing to do.

Give or take the closing banquet, there was much to be proud of when Owen Sound hosted the Canadian Broomball Championships.

The Junior B NorthStars earned a playoff berth for the first time in 6 years and gave the eventual Founders Cup Champions from Orangeville a very tight playoff series.

I spent 12 days in Ireland with memories that will last 12 years and more.

The Canadian Bantam Fastball Championship Tournament was great.

I successfully downsized a 45 year old living space, breaking just 1 glass and suffering only a tiny laceration in the process.

We fired the idiot consultant.

And the Bears In Blue game worn Attack jerseys generated $ 10,000 as part of a $ 20,000 campaign for Cancer research.

Sports. Radio. Life in general.

Merry Christmas

I'm Fred Wallace
