Ontario Volleyball Entry Begins Prep Tonight

Hi, this is Fred Wallace with " Off the Wire ".

The 30th season for the Big Bruce Volleyball Club begins tonight with their first open practice.

The evening will begin with registration at 6:15 pm at Chesley District Community School and will be followed with by the first practice session from 7-9:30 pm

Three decades ago there were just over a half dozen high schoolers from Chesley participated in the club's original season.

A few of those early volleyballers remain connected to the club all these years later, now as members of Barry Mutrie's coaching staff.

Now, upwards of 40 players have the opportunity to play on one of the balanced entries Big Bruce puts into the Ontario Volleyball Association season.

While the club's home base is at Chesley, the program has expanded to essentially take in players from all over Grey and Bruce giving the dedicated player the opportunity to continue competing after the traditional Bluewater Boys Volleyball season has ended.

Blow out the candles....Happy 30th birthday to the Big Bruce Volleyball Club.

I'm Fred Wallace
