Bench Talk / Off The Wire

Cluttered Days

By Fred Wallace

Hi this is Fred Wallace with " Off the Wire " brought to you by your local Auto Logic- the Logical Choice.

The horizon is cluttered with sporting activities of every description.

The OFSAA " AA " Boys Volleyball event begins today at Windsor with the Saugeen District Royals scheduled to play 3 times today and hopefully that many more tomorrow.

Meanwhile at Timmins, the Kincardine Lady Knights open the OFSAA " A " Girls Basketball tournament against Nicholson of Belleville today.

Tonight in Meaford, the Orangeville Ice Crushers meet the Knights in the Greater Metro Junior Hockey League.

The Knights are looking to extend a 3 game win streak.

Game time is 7:30 tonight.

Meanwhile the Wiarton Rock are on the road tomorrow to Sturgeon Falls and then come home Saturday to face the Bradford Rattlers.

Saturday night, former NHL'er Curtis Sanford returns to his roots and will be at the Wiarton Arena from 5:30-6:30 pm.

Some 20 years ago, Sanford played goal for the Wiarton Wolves Junior C Club.

And a quick reminder that the Owen Sound Ice Hawks Girls Showcase day is Sunday at the Harry Lumley-Bayshore Community Centre with 6 games scheduled to be played beginning at 11 am Sunday morning.

I'm Fred Wallace
