Hi this is Fred Wallace with " Off the Wire " brought to you by your local Auto Logic- the Logical Choice.
The Owen Sound Attack are on what is their second to last extended road trip of the season.
Games tonight at Windsor, tomorrow at Flint and Saturday at Saginaw will bring the Attack to 15 games on the road, which is almost half of their annual 34 game road sked by mid November.
By my count, there's only a couple of occasions remaining where the club plays more than once on the road in a week ( and it's certainly not in January when Owen Sound has 8 of 10 games at home including 7 in a 2 week span !!! )
This is good news.............. and also bad news.
The good news is that almost every OHL club is better at home than on the road, so if the Attack have a successful weekend at Windsor, Flint and Saginaw, they could put themselves in a position to make hay at home.
The bad news is that at 4 & 8 on the road, Owen Sound hasn't been successful away from the Bayshore, especially of late, and if you're in the lower tier of the Western Conference, teams with poor road records seldom last long.
Which again brings us to this weekend and roadies against the Spitfires, Firebirds and Spirit, all from the Western Conference.
If Owen Sound is successful on the road this weekend, suddenly the landscape changes.
If not, the road back might be a lengthy.
I'm Fred Wallace
