The Price To Get There

Sault Ste Marie Hosts U17

Hi this is Fred Wallace with " Off the Wire " brought to you by your local Auto Logic, the Logical Choice.

Happy Halloween.

Amid the trick or treating, the city of Sault Ste Marie is hosting the World Under 17 Hockey Challenge which builds through the week and climaxes this weekend.

The U17 tournament features a decent number of local connections on the various Canadian entries.

On Canada Red, Connor Roberts of Owen Sound is competing.

The Canada Black squad features Owen Sound Attack first rounder Aidan Dudas plus Collingwood native Allan McShane.

And the Attack Athletic Therapist, Andy Brown, is with Canada White.

The Under 17 competition is being conducted against the backdrop of an interesting article out of Hamilton in which the Spectator painstakingly got the postal codes of many current OHL players and matched those codes to the income and affluence of the addresses and concluded the OHL is primarily for the wealthy kid from the wealthy family.

I can't speak for the Roberts, the Dudas Family or the McShanes, but my personal observation is that the findings of the Spectator research isn't anything new, it's just far more pronounced in this day and age.

I'm Fred Wallace
