Hi this is Fred Wallace with " Off the Wire " brought to you by your local Auto Logic, the Logical Choice.
It's been a funny start for the Owen Sound Attack in the Ontario Hockey League.
When you think they're ready to roll, they stumble.
When you think that their destiny is doom, they rally.
On the year, the Attack are 5 & 5.
Owen Sound has been defeated by Sarnia, Flint, Guelph, Sudbury and Peterborough, none of whom I'd expect to be major contenders this year.
By comparison, Owen Sound has wins over Hamilton, North Bay, Sault Ste Marie, Barrie and Kitchener, at least 3 of whom I'd anticipate will be frontrunners in short order.
Another curiosity; after tying a franchise record last year with 19 games that were extended to overtime and/or shootout, it hasn't happened once in 10 starts this year. When they win, they win. When they lose...they lose.
All of which brings us to this weekend's doubleheader at Erie.
Owen Sound is coming off a lethargic loss to Peterborough and the Otters are a good team, so in the crazy scenario that's unfolded, it could be good news for the Owen Sound Attack.
