Doubleheader Days

By Fred Wallace

Jays-Indians, Dodgers-Cubs Yesterday and Today

Hi this is Fred Wallace with " Off the Wire " brought to you by your local Auto Logic, the Logical Choice.

Both the American League and the National League Championship Series had games yesterday.

Of course, the primary buzz comes out of Toronto where the Blue Jays stayed alive with a 5-1 win over Cleveland.

Aaron Sanchez was sturdy and, to a certain extent, Toronto finally got some pop at the plate, putting up 5 runs.

Cleveland still leads the series by a commanding margin of 3-1, but with Marco Estrada up against rookie Ryan Merritt today, is it possible for Toronto to extend the series one more game ?

Meanwhile, at Dodger Stadium, Rich Hill, a rags to riches story, combined with 3 relievers last night to blank the Cubs 6-0.

Suddenly the Cubs, like the Blue Jays, are out of sync on offense having been shutout in back to back games.

LA leads the National League Final 2-1 with Game 4 this evening at 8 pm
