Bench Talk / Off The Wire

City Lacrosse and Skills Development

By Fred Wallace

Hi this is Fred Wallace with " Off the Wire " brought to you by your local Auto Logic, the Logical Choice.

As we head into Thanksgiving Weekend, I want to wish everyone the very best for our final long weekend before Christmas.

I also want to look into the near future and the long term as it pertains to lacrosse in the city.

First of all, starting Tuesday, and running every other Tuesday until December 20th, Paperweight, Tyke and Novice aged youngsters are invited to the Kilsyth Arena for pickup Lacrosse and skills development.

The activities will run from 6:30pm-7:30pm every second Tuesday.

Helmet, gloves and stick are required, and so too are Volunteer helpers with a lacrosse background

The cost for each session is $5 per Family with all proceeds rolled back into floor time.

This is a novel approach to the " off season " for lacrosse, albeit, it might also be a page from the Orangeville playbook where seemingly those youngsters start early and participate around the calendar.

On another lacrosse note, the Coldwell Banker Jr B NorthStars club has announced that their Annual General Meeting will be staged on Tuesday October 18th.

The meeting will be conducted at 7pm in the Shore Room at the Harry Lumley-Bayshore Community Centre.

The Junior B's won't hit the floor for at least 5 months, but the preparation stage commences in earnest on the 18th

Happy Thanksgiving

I'm Fred Wallace
