Sting and Firebirds Win Openers

By Fred Wallace

Attack Season Commences Tomorrow

Hi this is Fred Wallace with " Off the Wire " brought to you by your local Auto Logic, the Logical Choice.

The Ontario Hockey League season opened last night with a pair of Western Conference Games;

At Sarnia, former Owen Sound Attack forward Jaden Lindo opened the scoring as the Sting downed London 4-1.

Meanwhile in Flint, the Firebirds scored twice shorthanded as they blanked Saginaw 4-0.

The Attack season commences tomorrow night when they visit Sarnia and then follow with a game Saturday night at Flint.

Attack fans are encouraged by what they see on the horizon and even the Attack brass are quietly enthused about what they foresee.

Being the only team to defeat Memorial Cup Champion London in last year's playoffs and then following with a 4 & 1 pre-season mark this Fall are decent indicators of what might be ahead.

However, the Attack brass will quickly tell you that last year's playoff and the preseason are now virtually meaningless, and it's what's ahead that counts most.

What's ahead starts tomorrow night at Sarnia when the Attack go against the Sting
