The Summer-Fall Crossover

By Fred Wallace

Some Sports Climax, Others Commence

Hi, this is Fred Wallace with " Off the Wire ", brought to you by your local Auto Logic, the Logical Choice.

This is likely the most the cross-over weekend of regional sports year.

We mentioned yesterday, how the Bluewater Fastball League Tournament was being conducted at Chepstow, with 4 games tonight, which starts the path to the Championship Game on Sunday afternoon at 2 pm

And while the Bluewater Fastball League is climaxing this weekend, you don't have to look hard in Bluewater communities to see the high schoolers, especially the football players prepping for the start of their season.

Hockey season is underway; pick your example....

The Knights of Meaford play their second Greater Metro League game tonight when they visit West Nippissing at Sturgeon Falls.

The Pollock Division of the Provincial Junior Hockey League opens tonight with the Hanover Barons at Walkerton to meet the Hawks.

After playing last night at Barrie, the Owen Sound Attack of the OHL conclude their pre-season with games at North Bay tomorrow afternoon and then at home Sunday afternoon in a rematch with the Battalion.

And the Shallow Lake Crushers Senior Hockey team will begin play in 3 weeks, but they too made significant noise last night with the confirmation that they have signed former Attack forward Daniel Zweep.

Bluewater Fastball climaxes as other sports take their initial steps.

Welcome to crossover weekend.

I'm Fred Wallace
