GDCI Students Collect Food Door-To-Door

Goderich | by Fadi Didi

You are encouraged to leave non-perishable food items on your porch for high school students.

Secondary students in Goderich are making it easy to be generous this holiday season.

About 200 students from Goderich District Collegiate Institute will descend on Canada’s Prettiest Town Thursday morning in their annual holiday food drive.

Student Kailee Hewitt says residents who will not be home can leave non-perishable food items in a bag on their front porches.

The town-wide food drive runs from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. throughout Goderich.

Food collected will benefit the town’s St. Vincent de Paul Food Bank.

Items often in need at the food bank include canned soups, crackers, cookies, peanut butter, school snacks for kids, pastas with sauces, and canned meats.
