Culture Days in Orillia

Orillia | by Ken Hashizume

Three days in September will allow people to discover and experience local culture.

The City of Orillia is looking for local events to help celebrate arts and culture in Canada.

Culture Days provides residents and visitors free opportunities to discover and experience local culture.

The City's Manager of Culture Jacqueline Soczka says there are the usual places and events like the library and the museum of arts and history that will be participating.

But she says they are really putting out a call for everyone who has a local event in Orillia to get involved in Culture Days.

Soczka says the idea of Culture Days is to get people to try out some of the different cultural events in our area.

She says if organizers and promoters have a concert or theatre production planned they can invite people over to the venue to see how it is put together.

Soczka says organizers who want to take part in Culture Days can register online at and it is free.

She says events that are submitted by Monday August 11th will have a chance to be featured in the Globe and Mail.

Culture Days take place September 27th, 28th, and 29th.
