Quotes from Rita: “After years of hard work and dedication, I will be heading off to Syracuse University in August with a full scholarship. For the past 6 years I have been training with Earl Farrell and the Saugeen Track and Field Club, if it hadn't been for Earl I would not have had this opportunity. I would also like to mention that without the encouragement and support of my family, teachers, and friends, I wouldn't have the drive to continue on my way to achieving my goals.” “I look forward to attending Syracuse University and furthering my education. With help from Syracuse Coach, Enoch Borozinski, I also hope to achieve greater things in track and field.” “Our training facilities up here are very limited, but we are so lucky to have such great coaches. Earl and Geordie Farrell, Randy Millar, and Jacqui West have been there for me every step of the way.” “It will be so neat to have REAL indoor facilities, and lots of athletes to train and compete with.” “Thanks to everyone in Oliphant and Wiarton who have supported me along the way, you’re the best!” Mother Donna Rudell says: “I am so proud of her! I think she will really enjoy her time at Syracuse, and it’s close enough for us to see her.” Father Dave Rudell says: “She deserves this. Rita has not strayed from the path laid out for her and has worked harder than anybody to achieve this.
