Warden Appeals for CAS CashSimcoe Countyby Phil Birchard Simcoe County's new warden is asking the province to bail out the local Children's Aid Society. In a letter to the Ontario Premier, Warden Cal Patterson asks Dalton McGuinty to provide sufficient funding to let the Simcoe County Children's Aid Society meet its funding obligations. The CAS in Simcoe is facing an apparent financial crisis after funding from Ontario decreased by almost 11 per cent. The letter also asks the province to work to rationalize funding for Children's Aid Societies all across Ontario, and also review funding for the society. In that letter, Patterson says that the CAS provides an invaluable service to the community, and during tough economic times the group works with even more families.
