The Lucknow Lancers had an opportunity to win the Qualifying round against the defending W.O.A.A. Senior Champions however could not accomplish that as the Saugeen Shores Winterhawks came back to win 3 games over the past weekend.

On Friday evening in Port Elgin the Winterhawks Ryan Dudgeon opened the scoring on a powerplay in the second period at 12:28 only to see Mark Stanley tie the game for the Lancers at 19:09 with Brad Burton and Ean Moffat assisting on the goal. Rick Andrew gave the Lancers the lead at 3:07 in the third period with Jonny MacKinnon assisting on the goal. Shawn Walker tied the game on the power-play for Saugeen Shores at 14:35. The game then went to overtime only to see Bryan Kazarian get the winner for the Winterhawks at 1:38 in the first overtime period.

Erol Kahraman had a good game for the Lancers making 39 saves whereas Jeremy Beatty turned away 22 shots.

The rest of the weekend was not very postive for the Lancers as they could not get a puck past a stingy Beatty and the Winterhawks. At home on Saturday evening Brent MacDermid on the power-play, Shawn Walker and Ryan Dudgeon were the difference in a 3 - 0 victory for Saugeen Shores.

Sunday afternoon was more of the same as special teams for the Winterhawks was the difference as two short-handed goals in the first period by Ryan Dudgeon and Bryan Kazarian sealed the deal. Chad Little picked up two goals in the second period and then Dudgeon picked up his second goal of the game in the third period.

The Lancers will now go to the "A" series and play Palmerston, in a best 4 out of 7 which should begin on Friday in Lucknow at 8:30.
