Attack Downed By Whalers 5-1
by Kevin Bernard The Plymouth Whalers downed the Owen Sound Attack 5-1 Saturday night in the Ontario Hockey League. The Attack only managed one win during the 3 game weekend road trip. Garrett Meurs of Ripley led the Whalers to last night's win over the Attack, with 3 goals. Meurs scored 2 goals in the 1st period and then got the hat-trick in the second on a power play. Wasaga Beach Native Tyler Brown also scored for Plymouth, while Owen Sounds' only goal came from Grant McGee. The Attack went 1 for 3 on their road trip and are now 1 point back of Saginaw for 7th spot in the west, 3 points back of Erie for 6th. The Otters scored a 4-3 over Saginaw last night in a head to head match up. Meanwhile, Plymouth is now sitting in 4th with 66 points, just 4 back of 3rd place Kitchener.
