Tomorrow is Ground Hog Day, a tremendous day for the town of Wiarton who took a goofy notion and turned it into a community festival that garners national attention.
It's cool, so have a good time tomorrow in the Gateway Town and we'll see what Willie has to offer
From a sporting standpoint tonight, it's Owen Sound that has some action at the Blue Water Curling Club with the semifinals in the Chesley-Tara Insurance Major League.
Week one provided two upsets, one a staggering result where the 8th place team skipped by Wade Walsh upended the regular season champions skipped by Jeff Thomson of the Chesley Curling Club.
Part of what made the result so unique was that the Walsh rink squeaked into the playoffs by virtue of a sudden death tiebreaker game after the regular season when they eliminated Paul Godward at the Blue Water Club.
Walsh is back on home ice tonight at Blue Water and we wonder if he's got another upset in store as he's scheduled to meet Les Shane of Kincardine.
The other " A " side semifinal tonight is Paisley's Steve Gregg against Curtis Cassidy from Port Elgin.
Cassidy, the # 7 seed, also pulled an upset last week, defeating the # 2 seed skipped by Al Hutchinson from Blue Water, although as defending champions, the Cassidy victory didn't create the shock waves Walsh did.
Play in both the " A " & " B " sides begin at 9 pm tonight with the two " A " side winners advancing to the Chesley-Tara Insurance Championship Game next Wednesday at Port Elgin.
